The Fiji Labour Party leader, Mahendra Chaudhry, says it is Labour which deserves the credit for the formation of the multi-party cabinet and not the prime minister and his SDL.
In a statement, Mr Chaudhry says Laisenia Qarase had a mandatory requirement to fulfill under the constitution and he did so.
Mr Chaudhry says as such Mr Qarase "deserves no extra credit as heaped on him by certain organisations and individuals."
But Mr Qarase has told the Daily Post newspaper that he does not want any credit.
Mr Qarase says "the credit should go to the people of Fiji who have accepted the current multi-party cabinet."
