Solomons government seeks log processing quota

The Solomon Islands government says it wants all logging companies to eventually process 20 percent of harvested logs locally.

This is part of a new policy laid out in the draft Forestry Bill.

The government says it wants to adopt a holistic approach to the country's forests by properly controlling the activities of the logging industry.
