The Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has announced the establishment of the Commission of Inquiry into the April 18th and 19th civil unrest in Honiara.

Mr. Sogavare says the four member Commission will be chaired by retired judge of the Australian Federal Court, Queens Counsel, Marcus Einfield.

He says the terms of reference of the Inquiry will look into 12 main areas relating to the unrest, including investigating the role of any member of Parliament including Charles Dausabea and Nelson Ne'e who are currently in police custody in relation to the unrest.

Mr. Sogavare says the Commission of Inquiry will start work before the end of this month and should be completed within six months.
