More than 80 members of Taiwanese chambers of commerce in Australia, New Zealand and Taiwan have visited Fiji's second city, Lautoka, looking for investment opportunities.

The Daily Post reports that the investors were members of Taiwanese chambers of commerce in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria in Australia, Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand as well as from Taiwan.

The coordinator of the visit, Lynn Lu, is quoted as saying it is the first time that such a large number of potential investors from a very wide cross section of the business world hs visited Fiji.

She says some of them will return individually to pursue business and investment in their own fields.

Lautoka mayor, Rohit Kumar, says the city welcomes more investors for its development.
