The former commander of the Marau Eagle Force, Jerry Futa has been arrested by the Solomon Islands Police.
Police said Futa who has been on the run for the past six years was arrested on Saturday at Kolale in Honiara.
He was charged with the attempted murder of a police officer in January 2001.
Futa, appeared in the Magistrates Court where he was refused bail.
He will reappear in court on the 11th of August.
