Samoan minister withdraws resignation bid

Samoa's Minister of Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Mulitalo Siafausa Vui, has withdrawn his bid to resign.

The minister sought to leave office amid a court case alleging that he was involved in bribery and treating ahead of this year's election.

Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia reports from Apia.

"The application has been rejected and the case will still proceed in the supreme court. The prime minister confirmed that he received a copy of the resignation but later on the minister advised him for his resignation to be withdrawn. I believe that is when the court decided to reject the application."
