One of American Samoa's two big canneries is looking at hiring 200 new workers.
Chicken of the Sea Samoa Packing wants new workers to replace about 50 students heading back to class amid staff turnover and a planned production increase.
The general manager, Alfonso Pete Galeai, says Samoa Packing is maintaining its ability to remain competitive and the planned increase in production levels reflects sales and demand for their product.
Samoa Packing has been hiring at stations such as the Post Office and the Fagatogo Market Place.
Mr Galeai says response has been rather slow compared to when they were hiring at the beginning of the year.
