The District Court in Samoa has dismissed one count of assault against a defeated Opposition candidate in this year's election.
Tofele Lata Tavu'i, appeared in court to answer his charge after his wife had filed a complaint to police last year.
But his wife has now asked the court to withdraw the matter.
Tofele's wife told the court it was only a verbal argument and she was never assaulted.
She also said the domestic differences have already been resolved.
