The Leader of the Samoa Party, Su'a Rimoni Ah Chong, is representing himself in court in his election petition after the court accepted an application by his lawyer, Tuala Karanita Enari, to withdraw.

It's not clear why his lawyer has left the case but it has been reported by the Samoa Observer newspaper Su'a has sacked his lawyer.

Meanwhile, the petition by Su'a against the government minister, Mulitalo Siafausa Vui, is continuing after the minister's attempt to resign was dropped.

Most of the bribery and treating allegations against the minister have been dismissed because of lack of evidence.
