A Samoa Democratic United party candidate in this year's election has been sacked from the government Agriculture store Corporation board.

Tofele Lata Tavu'i, was a member of the board in the past five years.

Tofele told Radio Polynesia that his removal was political, and he also did not support the ruling government in the election.

The former board member was competing against the ruling HRPP party candidate and Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure who won the seat for the second consecutive term.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries has dismissed Tofele's claims.

Taua Kitiona Seuala says there are no politics involved in his decision to terminate Tofele's membership

He says it's the set policy for all government boards that members missing 3 consecutive meetings without the chairman being be informed be terminated.
