The American Samoan Government is aiming to settle another lawsuit against it and the LBJ hospital.

A bill before the Fono allows for 140 thousand US dollars as full payment in the litigation between Miriama Fasavalu, the ASG and the Hospital.

This will be the third out of court settlement against LBJ Hospital to be reviewed by the Fono in this session.

Miriama is the mother of a three year old girl who died in February 2003.

She had brought a two million dollar lawsuit against the hospital and the Government alleging that her daughter died because of a wrong diagnosis and the failure of hospital staff to meet expected standards of care.
