Three prominent Solomon Islanders have now been charged over planning the April riots in Honiara.

A former Honiara City Mayor, David Dausabea, and Central Honiara M-P, Nelson Ne'e, were charged with conspiring to commit a felony, following on from charges laid against former Malaita Eagle Force leader, Alex Bartlett.

The SIBC reports that the charges relate to a meeting before the riots, when the men allegedly planned to kill prominent politicians, including the Prime Minister Sir Allan Kemakeza, Snyder Rini, Peter Boyers and Laurie Chan.

They are also alleged to have planned to wipe out Chinese businesses and to destroy the Pacific Casino Hotel.
