PNG gets new coin supply from Canada

The Central Bank in Papua New Guinea will get a new supply of coins from the mint in Canada next month.

The supply of new coins are five toea coins in 20 million pieces, 10 toea coins in 30.5 million pieces and 20 toea coins in 15 million pieces.

Mr Kamit said one and two toea coins will cease to be legal tender by April the 19th next year and the old one kina coin ceases to be legal tender by November the 18th.

Meanwhile, The National reports PNG's international reserves are 1.3 billion US dollars.
