French Pacific leaders met in Greenland with other overseas European Union territories

Leaders from the French Pacific, including Oscar Temaru of French Polynesia, have flown to Greenland to take part in a meeting of European Union overseas territories.

The meeting in Nuuk [nook] will last for four days and discuss environmental issues and co-operation to integrate the territories.

New Caledonia is entitled to 25 million US dollars for the period 2004 to 2007 to be disbursed on professional training.

The New Caledonian delegation is to ask for the training funding to be extended.

Greenland is a Danish possession.
