Samoa family shunned over church move

1:43 pm on 19 September 2006

A Samoan family has been ostracised for establishing a new Seventh Day Adventist church in the village of Fausaga Safata.

The new church had started off with bible study which the village council allowed but the matter went further to the Lands and Titles court when the family established a church instead.

Last March, the court ruled against the village decision to ban the church and the family.

However, when the family returned they were told they are still being ostracised.

The family has taken the matter back to the Lands and Titles court.
