10:27 am on 5 October 2006

A new round of price increases has hit Fiji after this week's 30-percent fuel surcharge on the cost of electricity.

The Commerce Commission has approved a 12-percent increase in postal charges levied by the state-owned Post Fiji Limited.

The national airline Air Pacific has increased its fuel surcharge on tickets by an additional 11-US dollars.

And now Fiji TV reports that another state-owned company, Fiji Ports Corporation Limited is hoping for Commerce Commission approval to increase its charges for all incoming and outgoing cargo at the country's ports from January next year.
