10:27 am on 5 October 2006

The police at Tuasivi on the Samoan island of Savaii have issued a warrant for the arrest of a young man charged with arson relating to the burning of the Samoa Party leader's traditional meeting house in Lano village.

The Police superintendent in charge of Tuasivi out-post, Pagamalie Penani, says the suspect has already been charged but police are unable to find him.

The superintendent says the suspect has been in hiding since investigations into the torching of Su'a Rimoni Ah Chong's house started some three weeks ago.
