Samoa's Managing Director of the ANZ Bank Peter Johnson is questioning whether international media reports of significant job losses in ANZ across the Pacific are correct.
Local staff were shocked to hear the news that 300 bank employees across the Pacific will be affected.
The ANZ bank's chief executive John Velegrinis said that the job losses are part of a two year programme to improve the bank's operation throughout the Pacific.
