The Solomon Postal Corporation says it plans to update its postal technology to improve services.
The SIBC reports the Solomon Post's, Sione Kelly, as saying the postal service must now move with current technology for services, or lose its market.
Mr Kelly was speaking during the Universal Postal day celebrations.
The Universal Postal Union was born in Switzerland in 1874 and to date has millions of members worldwide.
