The Northern Marianas Commonwealth Utilities Corporation is poised to enter into a build-and-operate privatization deal with an independent power producer.
Addressing the business opportunities conference in Hawaii, the CUC's executive director Anthony Guerrero reiterated the Commonwealth utility's plan to privatize its main power plants.
The Saipan Tribune reports that CUC will issue a request for proposals to privatise before the end of this year.
