Solomon Island's Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has dismissed claims that investors are losing confidence due to the country's current diplomatic row with Australia.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Commission reports Mr Sogavare saying those claims were fabricated assumptions by people who are manipulated by Australian interests.

He says investors are more confident in government policies which were particularly directed at rural development.

The Prime Minister said financial institutions including the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank, are working to ascertain the current state of the country's economy.

Last week, the Opposition and certain individuals demanded the government to settle the dispute immediately to avoid a likely economic collapse.
