A former Governor in Northern Marianas Froilan Tenorio, says the only solution for the CNMI's ongoing economic problems is to establish a casino industry on Saipan.

He told the Saipan Tribune newspaper that no other industry could revive and turnaround the Commonwealth's ailing economy, except for a casino.

The former governor also reiterated the need to revive the CNMI's tourist industry, and a casino could be the answer to attracting tourists with money.

The CNMI government's cumulative deficit reached 174.5 million US dollars at the end of the 2005 fiscal year, according to independent auditor Deloitte and Touche.
