Government counselling to provide healthy marriages for American Samoa couples

Couples in American Samoa are to get greater access to marriage education services to help them form and sustain healthy marriages.

The U.S. department of health and human services are funding the health marriage initiative which will be administered locally by the government in partnership with six churches.

Married couples, engaged couples and couples interested in marriage will be eligible for assistance under the project.

The American Samoa governor, Togiola Tulafono, says he is pleased with the involvement of churches to help identify what works and what does not work in building and sustaining healthy marriages.
