The Fiji military regime has not ruled out a proposed legal way forward for Fiji following the coup.
The ousted opposition leader, Mick Beddoes, has suggested a new interim administration be formed out of previously elected MPs and that all the main players, such as the deposed Prime Minister and the military commander resign.
The military spokesman, Major Neumi Leweni, says that it is likely to be another week or so before an interim administration is appointed and they are still considering all options:
"It's an advice, but it's something that the RFMF will look at, but as of now we really can't make any comment on those issues. 'OK, but it would be fair to say you wouldn't rule it out all together?' No, no, no."

At least four cabinet ministers in Fiji's deposed Qarase government are reported to have applied for jobs in the military's proposed interim regime.
The military council is planning to directly appoint interim finance and foreign affairs ministers.
