Samoa's Minister of police, Toleafoa Apulu Fa'afisi, has announced the appointment of two senior police officers who were heading two separate peace keeping missions in Liberia and the Solomon Islands as new assistant police commissioners.
The two are Superintendent Tiatia Moto'otua and Lilomaiava Fou Taioalo.
Meanwhile thirty nine other senior police officers have also been promoted to the ranks of Superintendent and Corporals for merit and passing the usual police examination.
