Samoa Rugby Union chief executive future hangs in the balance

6:38 am on 9 January 2007

The future of Samoa's rugby union chief executive officer, Tuilagi Saipele Esera, will be decided in a meeting of the rugby union board scheduled for today.

Un-confirmed sources say a motion to terminate the service of the chief executive officer is expected to be the focus of the meeting.

The motion was made during the board's urgent meeting in December last year where the resignation of Manu Samoa part time coach, La'auli Michael Jones, was accepted.

The rugby CEO came under fire last November when he told a sports journalist to leave a farewell function for the national rugby sevens team. Ends
