Six candidates for a by-election in Samoa

Six candidates are due to stand for the third election for Samoa's Fa'asaleleaga number 2 constituency early next month.

Amongst the six candidates is a former MP and deputy speaker of parliament in the early nineties, Namulau'ulu Vavae Tuilagi, who has unsuccessfuly contested a number of elections including last year's general poll and the first by-election held last September for the same constituency.

Meanwhile the former MP, Pa'u Sefo Pa'u, who was found guilty of bribery and treating in an election petition, is supporting his brother, who is also running.

Letoa Paulo Pa'u, a former police officer, will compete against the assistant police commissioner and media spokesman, Papalii Li'o.
