Fiji's military commander and interim prime minister has apologised to all those affected in what he called the clean-up of the country since Laisenia Qarase's SDL government was ousted last month.
Commodore Bainimarama says some people were forcefully removed while others were asked to step aside to allow the military to carry out its campaign.
Speaking in a Fijian language television programme, Commodore Bainimarama said during the clean-up some drastic changes had affected individuals and he apologised to them.
But, he said, everything is being done for the benefit of the country, adding that more people have shown faith in the military and its actions.
Commodore Bainimarama said military public relations teams would visit villages to tell people of developments in the clean-up campaign which is aimed at improving state services to them and lifting their standard of living.
He said those who had complaints against the military should take them to the courts instead of going to the media.
