Tonga MP bailed after several weeks in custody after being charged following riot

A People's representative n Tonga, held in custody for the past month in relation to last November's riot, has been released today.

Tonga Radio says Isileli Pulu had applied for a review of his request for bail after he was turned down by the Supreme Court last week.

Mr Pulu is to appear in court again next month on charges of sedition and abetting murder.

Two other People's representatives, including the leading pro-democracy campaigner, Akilisi Pohiva, are also facing sedition charges.
