Fiji military probes 400 alleged corruption cases

Fiji's military has compiled more than 400 files alleging corruption following complaints lodged by members of the public.

This has been revealed by the head of the new Corruption Investigation Unit, Inspector Nasir Ali, who has been promoted to assistant commissioner following his appointment.

Assistant Commissioner Ali has told the Fijilive news website that it is a huge task for his team to investigate all the corruption allegations, but he says "all the lies and deceit will be revealed soon."

He says members of the public have shown tremendous support to the military by providing information of great help in their investigations.

Mr Ali says they will be targeting all government ministries to clean up the huge amount of corruption that has been accumulating over the years.
