The Bank of Papua New Guinea says it expects growth in private sector employment to continue.

The central bank Governor, Wilson Kamit, says real GDP growth is projected to be 4.5 per cent with increases in all sectors except the petroleum sector.

He told the Post Courier newspaper that employment grew by 4.6 per cent with increases seen in all sectors.

Mr Kamit also says the balance of payment for last year was projected to show a much bigger surplus than the year before.
