New Zealand film takes prize at French Polynesia film festival

A New Zealand film has won the Grand Prize at the 4th Pacific Documentary Film Festival in French Polynesia.

The film Made in Taiwan, which was directed by Dan Salmon and produced by George Andrews Productions, looks at two New Zealand Polynesians using DNA to trace their ancestors back to Asia.

Made in Taiwanalso won the prize for best film accorded by the public at the five-day event in Papeete.

An Australian film ' Mr Patterns' was one of the films given a special prize.
