New Zealand too strong for Oceania Davis Cup team

The Oceania men's Davis Cup tennis team have been soundly beaten 5-nil by New Zealand in their Group 2 match in Dunedin at the weekend.

In Friday's first singles, Marshall Islands West Nott lost in straight sets to New Zealand number one Dan King Turner.

In the doubles King-Turner and Simon Rea beat Samoa's Juan Langton and Solomon Islands Michael Leong 6-1 6-3 6-3.

In yesterday's reverse singles, Rubin Statham beat Langton 7-6(4) 6-1 while Cook Islands Brett Baudinet lost two sets to one to Adam Thompson 6-2 6-7, 6-1..
