A Chinese woman who has sued her immigration sponsors in American Samoa over unpaid wages was released from custody.

The court in Pago Pago has ordered that she cannot be deported until her case has been adjudicated.

Xiu Qin Zheng's immigration papers state that she was employed as a janitor by her sponsors FHL Incorporated.

The woman claims she paid 50,000 US dollars to the sponsors for papers to then go to the United States.

She says except for a short time after she arrived in 2004, she was never paid for her work.
