Three schools from Samoa are being invited to entertain in this year's Flag Day festivities in American Samoa.

Flag Day comemorates the first raising of the US flag on the island of Tutuila in 1900 when American Samoa became a US territory.

Governor Togiola Tulafono said the Flag Day festivities will honor the youth and schools and youth will entertain instead of village groups.

The three schools which are being invited are the Papauta Girls School, operated by the Congregational Church of Samoa, the Wesleyan college, owned by the Methodist church and Don Bosco Trade School, a Catholic institution.
