The chief executive officer of the privately owned LAU-TV commercial television in Samoa is free, after the district court yesterday dismissed six charges of failing to pay six months of employee's contribution to the government's national provident fund.

Last year, the NPF filed the charges against the CEO, Tuiasau Leota Uelese Petaia, when efforts to collect the outstanding contributions failed.

The decision by the court to drop the charges , followed an application by the national provident fund lawyer to withdraw the case as the arrears have now been paid.
