10:27 am on 22 February 2007

The Speaker of Parliament in Solomon Islands has informed members that the motion of no confidence in the prime minister will be not tabled tomorrow as previously expected.

Sir Peter Kenilorea says legal advice from the Attorney General is that the motion has not met the 7 days notice required by parliamentary standing orders to be moved during this session of parliament.

The notice of the motion of no confidence was given by M-P for Small Malaita William Haomae who is a member of the opposition bench.
