In what has been described as the biggest investment by a global hotel operator in Tonga, a five star hotel is to be built on Taunga island in Vava'u by Warwick International.
The noble 'Akau'ola, who negotiated the deal with hotel group, told Radio Tonga that the project will be beneficial for his people and Tonga in general.
The 40-bedroom hotel is expected to cost around 20 million US dollars to build.
'Akau'ola says around 11 hectares is required for the project which will involve five landowners.
