PNG Under 15 cricketers win back to back ICC EAP titles

The Papua New Guinea Under 15 cricketers have won back to back International Cricket Council titles beating Vanuatu in the final in Samoa at the weekend.

Vanuatu won the toss and decided to bat first but were in trouble early when they lost their captain for a duck and the first two wickets for just eight runs in the fourth over.

PNG were impressive in the field, and bowled Vanuatu out for 58 in the 13th over.

However, PNG also lost early wickets and were 43 for three in the tenth over, but lost no more wickets to wrap up the game in the 13th over.

Mea Chris top scored for PNG with 21 not out.

In other results Fiji beat Tonga for the third place playoff.

Tonga chasing Fiji's total of 151 were bowled out for 44, their captain Ofa top scored with 20.

In the match to decide 5th and 6th place Samoa beat the Cook Islands.

Samoa batting first posted 144 for five, then bowled the Cook Islands out for 53 in the 15th over.

Japan finished in seventh position.
