The Cook Islands believe they're in great shape to make their debut at the IRb under 19 Rugby World Championship in Ireland.

The squad is in camp in Auckland and after a week of preparation will fly out for Ireland on Friday.

Coach Yoba Ezekiela says he's disappointed that some players had to be left out, but is conficdent they have selected the best talent.

"It's a pity that we have to leave quite a few out with the trials but we can only take 26, and that's the best 26 we've got, it's all about the good build up, inspiration which is the most effective really, and take it as we go through we have to look ahead and keep all the big boys, but i'm pretty confident that we can do it."

In Belfast the Cook islands will face Chile first then Tonga and Uruguay in Pool B.
