Fiji Barbarians make good start to IRB Pacific Cup

The Fiji Barbarians rugby side made a good start in the IRB Pacific Cup as they scored a bonus point 20 - 18 victory over Tonga's Tautahi Gold.

The Barbarians scored four tries - two in each half to shut out a fit and exciting Tautahi Gold side in Lautoka, Fiji on Saturday.

The match was a stop start affair with the referee awarding a massive 34 penalties and 28 scrums in the game.

The Tautahi Gold led 13 - 10 at half-time but the Barbarians had abetter second 40 where they scored 2 tries to 1 to snatch the narrow but a very crucial win.

The Barbarians play Upolu Samoa in Apia this weekend while the Tautahi side meets fellow Tongan side Tau'uta Reds in Nuku'alofa.
