US government cancels Commodore Bainimarama's entry visa

The United States government has cancelled the entry visa of Fiji's interim prime minister and military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

The Fijilive news website reports that this has been confirmed by the military spokesman, Major Neumi Leweni.

But Major Leweni declined to comment further on the matter and referred all questions to Commodore Bainimarama.

Fijilive says Commodore Bainimarama could not be contacted and attempts to obtain comment from the US embassy in Suva proved futile.
