7:09 pm on 3 April 2007

A 53 member delegation of top Chinese government officials headed by a senior Communist Party official will arrive in Samoa tomorrow for a two day visit.

The delegation is headed by Chang Chun Lee, one of the members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

The Chinese Embassy office in Apia says as part of the visit, Mr. Lee will hand over one million US dollars for the renovation of the Apia park stadium for the up-coming South Pacific Games in August.

The project was fully funded by the Chinese government.

The delegation will also hold bilateral talks with the Samoan government over a number of issues to further strengthen the relationships between the two countries.
