The Oceania Football Confederation has proposed a charity match to raise funds for those affected by the tsunami in Solomon Islands.

The Confederation's President, Reynald Temarii, has made the proposal to FIFA President, Sepp Blatter.

Mr Temarii says the aim of the solidarity match is to collect funds that will be assigned to the victims of the disaster.

He says he wants to raise the awareness of the international football family and help alleviate the distress of the families of Solomon Islands.

Last month, a match against poverty in Marseille included players such as Ronaldo and Zinedane Zidane.
