France's ruling UMP Party has confirmed its two official candidates in French Polynesia for the French assembly elections in June.

The party headquarters in Paris has endorsed one incumbent, Michel Buillard.

In the other constituency it has backed Bruno Sandras of the local Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party.

This means that the party's incumbent, Beatrice Vernaudon, has been dropped.

She has been consistently rated as one of the most popular politicians.
