The opposition leader in Solomons Islands , Fred Fono, wants the current review of the Regional Assistance Mission, or RAMSI, to be based on task achievement.

The Pacific Islands Forum has sent two delegates to Honiara today for a review as requested by the Solomon's Prime Minister at last year's Forum summit

He says it is clearly the government's policy to get an exit strategy established.

But, Mr Fono feels that a lot of work still needs to be done in capacity building, in the transfer of knowlege and training in areas such as the police.

"There needs to be good capacity training programmes to enable Solomon Island police to be trained and equipped before RAMSI could look at leaving them on their own"
