American Samoa attorney, Fepuleai Afa Ripley, officially takes over today the post of Attorney General, after the Fono approved his nomination.

The House endorsed the nomination yesterday while the Senate gave its approval last week Thursday.

With his appointment fully confirmed by the Fono, Fepuleai has stepped down as chairman and board member of the American Samoa Power Authority.

A former deputy attorney general for Hawaii, Fepuleai has also given up his private law firm in American Samoa.
