Fiji's new National Council for Building a Better Fiji has won praise as a solution for future generations.
The executive director of the Citizens Constitutional Forum, the Rev Akuila Yabaki, says the council would offer a solution that would be beneficial far beyond the next national elections or any other elected government.
The Rev Yabaki says "it would see further than race and include all communities in Fiji."
He says the National Council, which would give policy advice to the interim administration, is essential in addressing the reasons behind Fiji's coup culture.
The Rev Yabaki says having such a council to advise the country's political leaders would ensure that Fiji does not go down the road of social and economic ruin.
He says the stakeholders would need to ensure that the National Council remains intact between changes in government.
Setting up the National Council is part of Fiji's commitment to the European Union on its path for a return to democracy.
