Samoa's police professional standards unit is investigating two allegations of attempted rape filed by policewomen against an assistant police commissioner, who led one of the police contingents to Solomon Islands.
A source within the police says the first alleged attack happened at the seawall behind the main government building last Monday.
The second attempted rape against the other female officer, according to the source, took place outside the main police head office.
The police commissioner, Papalii Lorenese Neru, did not want to comment about the complaints when contacted last night.
The allegations come as police face another a rape complaint by a female officer against a junior officer in the Criminal Investigation Department two weeks ago.
The case is still being investigated.
