The ousted LBJ Hospital Authority Board's Chief Executive Officer Kirk Gray has vowed to keep his position.

The Board has placed Mr Gray on administrative leave following a review of his performance and appointed the Chief Financial Officer Patricia Tindall as Acting CEO.

Mr Gray who has retained an attorney says he disagrees with the reasons given by the board and will respond to them individually in writing.

He says considerable improvements have been made at the hospital, which include strengthening administration staff and putting in a new organisational plan which is more functional for the hospital.
